Online Master's in Business Analytics Curriculum

Master the Complete Analytics Pipeline

Brown’s online master’s in business analytics delivers a comprehensive yet practical curriculum designed for working professionals who want to move beyond theory, tools and dashboards to informed, data-driven decision-making.

The curriculum begins where analytics actually starts with messy, real-world data. Across eight courses, you’ll build strong data literacy and analytical judgment while progressing from data curation and exploratory analysis through predictive modeling, machine learning and emerging AI techniques. Each course emphasizes hands-on application using real business problems, helping you understand not just how methods work, but when and why to apply them.

The program is not designed to make you an expert in each approach or technique. Instead, it cultivates analytical fluency across areas such as statistical reasoning, predictive analytics, machine learning, multimodal analysis and generative AI. This approach builds both technical understanding and the judgment to apply the right tools with precision and purpose.

Delivered fully online, the program offers flexibility through asynchronous coursework, complemented by live sessions that deepen engagement with faculty and peers. From foundational analytics courses to advanced work with large language models and multimodal analytics, the curriculum develops analytical judgment alongside technical skill, preparing you to translate data into decisions across business contexts.

With access to Brown’s distinguished faculty and global professional network, you’ll gain both the capabilities and perspective needed to advance in data-driven roles without putting your career on hold.

Experience Brown, in Person

Each spring, students are invited to Brown University’s campus in Providence, RI for an optional 2.5-day residential experience.

Held in early May, this immersive event brings together students from Brown’s online analytics and leadership programs to:

  • Connect in person with faculty and peers
  • Participate in industry-focused workshops and applied sessions
  • Expand professional networks within an Ivy League academic environment

While not required, the residential experience offers a powerful way to deepen learning, strengthen relationships and engage more fully with the Brown community — bringing the online experience to life on campus.
