Biography

Andrew Banasiewicz is Professor of the Practice of Business Analytics in the School of Professional Studies at Brown University where he also serves as Academic Director for the Master’s in Business Analytics and Master's in Management programs. In addition, he is also the founder of Erudite Analytics, a consultancy specializing in risk analytics. 

Andrew is a career business analytics practitioner, researcher and academician with extensive experience in the development of data-driven decision support systems in a wide range of industries. In the course of his career, he spent nearly 20 years in corporate business analytics leadership roles, focusing primarily on development of predictive analytical capabilities; he also spent about 15 years as a full-time university professor and academic director, most recently at New York University. Andrew is the author of 8 books, including Probabilistic Benchmarking (2024), Data Analytic Literacy (2023), Organizational Learning in the Age of Data (2021), and Evidence-Based Decision-Making (2019), in addition to more than 40 journal articles and conference papers – all focused on different facets of instituting data-driven decision-making practices, a topic he frequently speaks on at conferences around the globe. And lastly, he is also an avid outdoorsman with interest spanning exploring the great outdoors, scuba diving and competing in endurance sports. He holds a Ph.D. in business from Louisiana State University.
