New parking garage location in proximity to 225 Dyer Street, downtown Providence: Validation capabilities for daily parking are no longer available at South Street Landing Garage – instead, use THE RICHMOND GARAGE: 280 Richmond Street. The garage can be entered from Dyer Street, Richmond Street or from Elm Street and is still only a short walk to the School of Professional Studies (SPS) at 225 Dyer Street. When entering the garage, please take a white ticket to activate the gate. For validation, check-in with the staff at SPS during business hours and they will hand you a blue ticket that serves as your no-cost validation. When exiting the garage you insert the initial white ticket, and instead of inserting payment, you insert the blue ticket for the gate to rise. SPS is unable to validate at any other garage or surface lot. No overnight parking is permitted in this garage – cars parked overnight are subject to towing.

The pay stations accept credit cards and U.S. bills, the pay stations do not supply change so please use the exact amount of bills for the parking transaction. Please allow plenty of time for parking, as the visitor lot is a few blocks from the Petteruti Lounge in the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center.
Visitors may find metered parking on the streets in and around campus. Parking meters in Providence will no longer be accepting an inserted credit card (as of 2021). We encourage city residents currently using credit cards for parking meters to download the Passport parking application. The Passport Parking App allows you to conveniently pay for parking from anywhere by your mobile device.
Please pay close attention to street signs that are marked for Brown-specific spaces, as these are reserved for Brown employees only and require a specific Brown daytime employee parking permit. Visitors shall not park in these spaces. Cars parked in these spaces without employee Brown University parking permits may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
There is also non-metered street parking in the residential areas around College Hill, most with a 1 or 2 hour time limit.
