Brown University undergraduates have the opportunity to spend a fifth year at Brown to earn a master’s in management (MiM) degree. The fifth-year MiM provides an accelerated pathway to develop management, leadership, analytics and decision-making skills while completing both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in just five years.
The online master’s in management prepares students to become innovative, ethical and effective business leaders through coursework in management, leadership, strategy, analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing and operations.
Students admitted to the fifth-year pathway apply during their junior year, begin graduate coursework during their senior year, complete their bachelor's degree and matriculate into the MiM program the following fall to finish the remaining degree requirements in one additional year.
Undergraduates admitted to the fifth-year MiM program are automatically eligible to receive a 20% Brown Alumni Scholarship upon matriculating into the graduate portion of the program. Applicants are also considered for merit scholarships up to 50% of tuition during the admissions review process. Scholarship awards cannot be combined; students will receive the single scholarship that provides the greatest financial benefit for which they qualify.
*Important Eligibility Note for the 2026–2027 Academic Year
Brown undergraduate students entering their senior year during the 2026–2027 academic year are not eligible to apply to the fifth-year MiM program because the program requires students to begin coursework in the fall semester of their senior year.
Students entering their senior year in 2026-2027 are encouraged to apply to the fall 2027 MiM cohort through the standard application process. Students admitted to the fall 2027 MiM cohort are also automatically eligible for the 20% Brown Alumni Scholarship.
