8 week, 1-hour sessions
This experiential and interactive 8-hour course is adapted from the internationally acclaimed, evidence based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and is designed to provide training in foundational mindfulness practices and teach participants how to integrate and apply mindfulness in their everyday lives, including the work environment.
Topics explored include the role of perception in how we experience, interpret and relate to ourselves, others and life circumstances; stress and burnout in healthcare professionals and how practicing mindfulness can potentially mitigate harmful effects of stress; cultivating curiosity, compassion, personal values and kind intention; and how present moment awareness can support real choice and skillful action.
This course is designed to support clinicians and healthcare workers to establish a regular personal mindfulness practice while exploring application and strategies to integrate mindfulness into clinical work.
