Mindfulness Programs for Organizations

Are we truly “present” at work?

Do you check emails during meetings? Think about what needs to get done at home? Ruminate about a conversation with your employee? Worry about a conversation that didn’t go well?

Recent studies show that almost half the time, we are not fully engaged with the here and now, especially at work. Not being fully present can hinder productivity and meaningful collaboration. But there are solutions for you, and the people with whom you work.

“ Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally. ”

John Kabat-Zinn MBSR Founder

Mindfulness in the Workplace

Mindfulness is an innate capacity to be fully present to ourselves, others and our life as it unfolds moment to moment. By engaging regularly in evidence-based practices and incorporating mindfulness into daily and routine activities, you can improve your physical and mental well-being.

What does this mean for employees, executives and the organizations they work for? Regular mindfulness practices can help workers at all levels reduce stress, respond to challenges with greater skill as well as improve focus, health, resilience and well-being.

Take the Next Step

Whether you are a member of your organization's executive team, work within human resources or coordinate professional development, you can have an impact on your team's health, happiness, and productivity.

General Programs

1.5 – 2-hour presentation

An introductory program that presents an overview of mindfulness, benefits, application in healthcare settings, science and practice. The program serves as a vehicle to both introduce and market upcoming mindfulness programs to be offered by organizations.

2-4 hours in length, designed in partnership with the organization

What does it mean to be a mindful leader and to create a workplace that values and supports mindfulness in the workplace? This program explores how mindfulness practice can increase leadership excellence and provide the foundation for the development of the qualities that we most want in ourselves and our teams.

4 week, 1-hour sessions

This experiential program introduces and begins to explore the practices and benefits of mindfulness, and provides tools and strategies to strengthen the ability to meet the inherent complexities of work and everyday life.

8 week, 1-hour sessions

This experiential and interactive 8-hour course is adapted from the internationally acclaimed, evidence based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and is designed to provide training in foundational mindfulness practices and teach participants how to integrate and apply mindfulness in their everyday lives, including the work environment.

Topics explored include the role of perception in how we experience, interpret and relate to ourselves, others and life circumstances; stress and burnout in healthcare professionals and how practicing mindfulness can potentially mitigate harmful effects of stress; cultivating curiosity, compassion, personal values and kind intention; and how present moment awareness can support real choice and skillful action.

This course is designed to support clinicians and healthcare workers to establish a regular personal mindfulness practice while exploring application and strategies to integrate mindfulness into clinical work.

8 week, 1-hour sessions

This evidence-based course consists of eight, 1-hour sessions and includes 10 - 15 minutes of home practice per day between sessions. Through guided mindfulness practices, group dialogue, individually tailored instructions and home assignments, you will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to build your personal practice, explore strategies for incorporating what is learned in class into daily life to help  break the cycle of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion; and to access the wide-ranging benefits well beyond the course. The structure of the course and home practices are based on the highly acclaimed and researched Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) program and bestselling book: “Mindfulness: a guide to finding peace in a frantic world”, co-authored by Danny Penman, PhD,  and Mark Williams, who is the leading mindfulness researcher in the UK, a professor at Oxford University and teacher for the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation.

8 week, 2.5-hour sessions

MBSR is an 8-week evidence based, experiential program designed to provide participants with intensive and systematic training in mindfulness meditation and movement practices, and in integrating into one’s daily life what is discovered and learned through the process of participating in the course. Research on mindfulness-based training consistently demonstrates positive outcomes associated with increased self-awareness, emotional and attention regulation; reduction in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions including anxiety, depression and chronic pain; and positive changes in risk factors that may lead to more serious chronic ailments. Come explore how mindfulness may support you in living life more fully, with greater ease and joy.

8 week, 2.5-hour sessions

Experiences of recurrent depression and anxiety can leave one feeling exhausted, uncertain about how to move forward or get unstuck, and like life has lost its color. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an 8-week evidence based, experiential program that combines training in mindfulness meditation practices with principles from cognitive therapy.  This course was designed as a vehicle to support people at risk for recurrent depression and to cultivate skills for greater self-care and resilience. Evidence consistently demonstrates improvement in the intensity and frequency of recurring episodes of depression and anxiety. The heart of this work lies in becoming acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize and contribute to mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship with them.
