Sandra Smith is the Associate Dean of Professional and Executive Education at Brown School of Professional Studies. She is a strategic and innovative leader with over 25 years of experience and a record of bringing new programs and services to market for higher education and Fortune 500 companies.
At Brown, Sandra oversees a portfolio of professional masters and a growing set of non-degree programs for a wide range of professional audiences and corporate clients. During her tenure, Sandra has launched various new lines of programming; co-led the development of Brown’s Executive Master in Science and Technology Leadership (EMSTL) program and served as its inaugural Program Director.
Before joining Brown, Sandra consulted with Catalyst Strategies, Recon Strategy and The Boston Consulting Group primarily focusing on developing growth strategies for leading technology and services companies. Her former clients include executives at Agilent, Blue Cross Blue Shield, EBay, Hewlett Packard and Intuit. She also served as Director of Advised Services at Charles Schwab where she launched and managed solutions for their largest customer segment while overseeing technology platform development, marketing, sales, operations, and other functional areas.
Sandra earned a Bachelor with honors and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Sandra has been a commissioner in the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission for the State of Rhode Island for eight years and an executive committee member of the Board of Trustees for the Wheeler School, a private k-12 co-educational school, for the past five years.
