Jae Ha Lee is Dean and Professor of Finance at SKK Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB) at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in Seoul, Korea. He is a founding member of SKK GSB and was Deputy Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2004-2014. He also served as MBA Director and on the Executive and other committees at Sungkyunkwan University Business School from 1997 to 2003. Prior to joining SKKU, he was the MAPCO Presidential Professor of Finance at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Lee has participated in derivatives and capital markets projects for the US and Korean governments; served as advisor, committee chair and member for many financial institutions and government agencies; and served as President of the Korea Derivatives Association. He worked for the board of Kyobo Life Insurance for 9 years and is currently a board member of Kyobo Securities. Lee has been director and vice-president for academic associations in Korea, and is active in executive education programs.
Dr. Lee received his BS and MS in Electronics Engineering from Seoul National University, and MBA and PhD in Finance from Indiana University. He has published three books on investments and corporate finance, and more than 35 articles in Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and other leading finance journals. Lee was associate editor of the Journal of Financial Research for 6 years. His work has been covered in USA Today and Boston Globe, and his research and scholarship have been recognized by 18 fellowships and grants, 11 teaching awards, and awards from the Financial Management Association and others.
