The Brown University Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership (EMHL) is a 16-month intensive degree program for healthcare professionals designed to cultivate visionary leaders to transform our healthcare organizations and to deliver outstanding products and services in this dynamic environment.
Healthcare is undergoing rapid, disruptive and persistent change, and the public debate on cost, quality, and access to care continues. Visionary leaders are essential to transform our healthcare organizations and to deliver outstanding products and services in this dynamic environment.
Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership graduates are well-positioned to lead in the clinical, corporate, and public sectors; to interpret and use data for sound decision making; and to promote outstanding health care for patients as well as financial health for their organizations. Through the program, they gain a comprehensive perspective that goes beyond local concerns, and develop the knowledge and skills to create flexible, responsive and sustainable organizations across the healthcare industry.
Participants in the program benefit from Brown’s strength in public health, public policy, health economics, and evidence-based medicine. They examine the conditions and limitations of healthcare systems around the world and confront the challenges of reformulating them. Progressing through the program as a cohort, highly accomplished participants contribute significantly to peer-to-peer learning while working closely with expert faculty.
Designed to meet the needs of working professionals, the program blends face-to-face and online learning, and features hands-on assessments of today’s healthcare landscape. Students gain immediately applicable knowledge and, through an individual Critical Challenge Project, devise actionable plans to address real-time healthcare challenges in their own organizations.
Students graduate armed with a powerful professional network and cross-industry expertise to lead the way in transforming healthcare.
