Inaugural EMSTL Cohort Completes Exhilarating First Week at Brown Campus

Congratulations to the Inaugural Class of 2018 on the completion of an action-packed first week of the Brown University Executive Master in Science and Technology Leadership (EMSTL) program.  EMSTL’s roster of distinguished professors worked with students on subjects ranging from the theory of leadership, finance, strategic decision-making, and unlocking value in a globalized economy.

Students also embarked on a 16 month-long process of honing their leadership skills in a signature professional development program that includes interactive workshops, one-on-one executive coaching, and intensive practice in effective communications.

The week also included speeches from Frans Johansson, author of the Medici Effect, a best-selling classic book on innovation, and Gina Raimondo, Governor of Rhode Island.

The EMSTL 2018 cohort is made up of 22 professionals working across 10 industry sectors including IT consulting, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, health, aerospace, defense, and more. They have 15 years of experience on average and work across a variety of technology-related functions.

Sharing his thoughts on the program, Yovany Jerez, EMSTL Class of 2018 and Organizational and Leadership Consultant at AT&T, said:

“As of today, there is nothing like the EMSTL offering in the market.  It’s unique design perfectly aligns with my career aspirations.”
